West Houston Master Suite

Pattern, print, color, and texture! Today’s blog post has a master suite transformation that includes all of these. This primary bedroom suite received a MAJOR facelift, undergoing a massive layout change and renovation. My clients were struggling with an awkward furniture layout in their bedroom and dated, tired finishes and fixtures in their master bathroom. It was time to dream up an all new sanctuary! Take a look at the master bedroom and master bathroom before.

WEST HOUSTON MASTER SUITE - BEFORE

WEST HOUSTON MASTER SUITE - DESIGN BOARDS

From the onset of this project, my client expressed her desire to maximize the style of their new bedroom using bold color and was open to patterns. We still wanted the bedroom to have a soothing, calm feeling, so we decided to use blue and purple color scheme, and mix a variety of floral and soft geometric patterns. A gorgeous printed teal and blue grasscloth wallpaper would anchor the “bed wall”, and act as a backdrop to a luxe upholstered headboard. Elegant antique mirrored nightstands are substantial and contrast beautifully against the walls. Luxe. layered bedding is set off with a pop of color with the watercolor printed floral and bold violet geometric print. I love the quirky indigo blue velvet bench at the end of the bed.

The master bathroom was appointed with polished nickel finishes and very elegant marble. The architect planned a masterful tile design, beautiful arched ceilings, and a very thoughtful floor plan to accommodate my client’s needs. We added drama with gray painted cabinetry and the most stunning crystal drop chandelier.

WEST HOUSTON MASTER SUITE - AFTER

This renovation project was intense and extreme - there is really no element in the new space that can be recognized from the old! I think the result is a beautifully layered and elegant primary suite. The bathroom is really stunning when you walk in and see all of the architectural details and the classic marble everywhere. I love the bold pattern plan in the bedroom that is exciting yet still has a restful quality.

Could you see yourself living and resting in this type of master bedroom suite? I’d love to know your favorite design element in the new space - let me know in the comments below!
